Day 7 Theme : Newspaper

Newspapers a daily diet for some along with their tea, and for others a weekly passtime and for some non-existent. Yet, they play a pseudo crucial role without us realising how much it has influenced our views and opinions about everything around us. This will be the next theme. Shoot anything that has newspapers in it. People reading newspapers, newspaper stands, newspaper deliveries/vendors, interesting headlines, newspaper wrapping groceries, just about anything that catches your eye and you find it engaging.

I found the following shot from a fellow flickrer. Shows the elderly gentleman engrossed in his early morning quota of news fresh… There’s something about you being the first to read the newspaper in the morning.

Day 4 Theme : Market Life

This is the fourth composition for the participants of Projekt 36.

Everyone hunts for that decisive moment in photography. Here is where every action is a rare moment frozen in time. A whole mix of emotions and actions can be captured in a bustling market. An ideal hunting ground for streetlife photographers.

Grab your KB – 10 and a basket. Go shoot and buy veggies for lunch!

Day 3 theme : Outsourcing / BPO Industry

This is the third composition for the participants of Projekt 36.

India has become the leading country to grab outsourcing projects from back office processing to International call centers/Tech support/customer service and so on. With the cash registers still ringing, this business is set to stay at least for sometime now. We would like to see pictures depicting the life of the employees working at a BPO/call center. The typical life which is bitter sweet. The high pays they get in exchange for staying up all morning and talking to people half way across the world.

Keywords : Young men/women waiting for their pickups, Traffic Scene, Getting to work, young men/women waiting for cabs, office scenes, The good life, parties, ID/swipe cards, sleepy faces, coffee machines, bad food, cigarette breaks…

Quote of the day: “You can find pictures anywhere. It’s simply a matter of noticing things and organizing them. You just have to care about what’s around you and have a concern with humanity and the human comedy. ” – Elliott Erwitt

Enjoy!

Day 2 Theme : Incredible India

Incredible India, an apt slogan used by the Indian Govt’s Department of Tourism to woo tourists. But here, we’re looking for something that is indeed incredible and specific to India. Let’s see pictures that specific to India, its people, cultural diversity, way of life, etc. Few examples that come to mind are Namaste, bindi and sindhoor, bangles, dhoti, traditional clothing, worship, respect and so on. The subject is varied and so subject to interpretation.

Day 1 Theme: Shadows

This is the first frame for the participants of Projekt 36. Shadows of people, animals, inanimate objects, trees, cars, just about anything that makes an interesting shadow. Long shadows, small shadows, shadow on the wall, where shadows become a predominant portion of the frame. Below are a few examples,

Here are a few links that sheds some light on shadows theoretically… and another which shows the photographers shadow along with the subjects. All that of theory and here’s another one with a less boring headline 8 gr8 ways to include shadows. And i believe the last does well in showing some creative ones. Goodluck ! If you think you can do better, go ahead! If others have better examples, quotes, ideas, you can put them down here. This thread will be open until the completion of the project. There is no hard and fast rule of shooting theme 1 as your first frame and going accordingly, you decide when you want to shoot which frame.

Enjoy!
